Sustainability

AEI is committed to constantly improving our sustainability practices. In 2025 we were awarded a Silver Medal from Eco Vadis for our sustainability achievements!

Our Tree Planting Program

Since we were founded in 1985, AEI has committed to planting one tree for every pole we set. We planted our millionth tree in 2009 and are still planting! AEI’s owners, employees and families have forested several thousand acres, mostly with Ponderosa Pines.

Our Impact

At the peak of our program, we were planting 50,000 trees per year.

One Ponderosa Pine on average absorbs 48 pounds of carbon dioxide every year.

The trees we have planted to date could be absorbing over 30,000 tons of carbon dioxide every year.

Tree Planting Project

In summer of 2023, a fire broke out over two acres of land right next to a family’s home outside of Dayton, burning all of the trees and greenery in front of their home. This year, we planted 70 ponderosa pine plug seedlings for the family where everything that was burned originally had been. We’ve calculated that when the ponderosa pines we planted are mature, they will absorb approximately 3,360 pounds of Carbon Dioxide per year.

Community Cleanup

AEI hosts community cleanup days where employees and volunteers select an area in our local community, or near one of our projects, and spend the day picking up litter. In 2024, we gathered 117 gallons of litter at our closest ski resort!

Recycling

Whenever possible, AEI either recycles extra/scrap project materials or donates them for local use.

AEI belives in strong community support and involvement. We encourage and allow time for employees to be involved in their communities.

AEI employees have a wide variety of community involvement. And have given time to many organizations such as; Washington council of the Blind, High school sports teams, High school clubs such as FBLA, FFA, Young Life, Lions Club, Community events such as all wheels weekend, Relay for life, county fair.
